Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
Names, dates of birth, and other terms entered in a search tool are sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results; Dallas County Warrant Records does not retain or log those search terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or contact submission may be retained long enough to review and answer it. We keep such messages within the organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the servers automatically receive limited technical information about the visit, including:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device to help measure site use, such as popular pages and points where visits end. Analytics providers combine that traffic information for reporting. Browser controls can block cookies, although doing so may change how some site functions behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Keeping the site up, running, and loading quickly
- Sending your search requests to the right partner service
- Figuring out which pages people find useful and which need work
- Tracking down and fixing technical issues
- Showing ads that may line up with your interests
No Warrant Data on File
Dallas County Warrant Records does not host, compile, maintain, or sell a database of warrants or person-level warrant records. It identifies official routes such as the Dallas County Clerk of Court, the Iowa District Court in the Fifth Judicial District, the Dallas County Sheriff's Office and Jail, and the restricted IOWA law-enforcement system. Visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes appearing on the site. Information submitted there is governed by the applicable provider's privacy policy rather than this policy. Each provider controls its own retention and disclosure practices, so review those terms before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Dallas County Sheriff's Office, Iowa Judicial Branch and Clerk resources, the restricted IOWA system, legal-aid resources, or outside search providers. Once a visitor follows an external link, that destination's privacy policy governs the visit. Read it before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select interest-based advertisements.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may nevertheless be disclosed to:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, commonly used safeguards protect information in our control. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, however, and we cannot promise that unauthorized access will never occur.
Users Under 18
The service is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such information, we will delete it.
Your Data Rights
Iowa Code Chapter 22 governs access to records held by Iowa public bodies, including eligible records maintained by Dallas County agencies. It does not convert this private site into a government record custodian. Subject to applicable law, you may:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised as practices or legal requirements change. A revised version will appear here with an updated effective date, so visitors should review it periodically.
